Cathedral Parochial Vicar Announcement

After two years of serving as Associate Pastor, Fr. Ruben Villalon-Rivera will be leaving the Cathedral at the end of June to begin his new assignment as Parochial Administrator of Our Lady of Sorrows in Memphis, effective July 1.

Deacon Casey Weber, who will be ordained by Bishop David Talley into the Presbyterate within the Catholic Diocese of Memphis on June 5, will begin serving as Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral parish beginning July 1.

After graduating college in 2010, Deacon Weber worked for five years as a Chemical Engineer. Specifically, he worked at Logical System, Inc., as a contractor. During this time, he was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova, where he was highly active in the Youth Ministry and Parish Religious Education (PRE) programs. It was at this time Deacon Weber discerned a call to the priesthood. He began his formation for the diocesan priesthood with the Catholic Diocese of Memphis under Bishop Terry Steib at Saint Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, Ind.
After earning his Master’s degree in Catholic studies of Philosophy in 2017, Deacon Weber continued his formation at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, La. In 2021, he earned his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Notre Dame Seminary after completing a thesis in Moral Theology.
