* * * * July 7 Fr. James Clark, Associate Pastor, Holy Rosary “The Catholic Doctrine of Mary and Its Roots in Ancient Christianity:Insights from Blessed John Henry Newman” Fr. James Clark: “In this presentation, I will examine Newman's defense of the Catholic doctrine of Mary and her role in salvation.  I will focus specifically on Newman's discovery of the role of Mary as the "New Eve" in the writings of the Early Church Fathers.  By examining this ancient doctrine, it will be clear to all that the role of Mary in salvation, though infinitely inferior to the role of Christ, as the one mediator between God and man, is in fact a doctrine of great antiquity that comes to us from those who were closest in time to the apostles.  The doctrine of the New Eve provides a defense of and an avenue toward all other Catholic beliefs about Mary.”

* * * * July 14 John Angotti, Christian Music Artist   “How Music and Liturgical Rituals Lead Us on Our Journey Home”

* * * * July 21 Mike Perkins, Fellowship of Catholic University Students “Focus: Forming Catholics for Life” Mike Perkins, Senior Director of Philanthropy What is your favorite part of working in Mission Development? "I love serving FOCUS through the ministry of philanthropy because it brings hope for the Church. Benefactors love learning about Focus and enjoy supporting it because it provides them hope that their children and grandchildren will embrace Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church. They feel joy when they give to meet the needs of our missionaries and the support the DSC provides to nurture our growing ministry. And I feel greatly blessed to awaken each day knowing I get to labor on behalf of what I believe is THE most effective ministry in the Catholic Church."
