Catholics from West Tennessee Help Reunite Families in Texas

Two groups from the Diocese of Memphis have travelled to the Texas-Mexico border to assist in the process of reuniting parents with their children.  These groups come at the request of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley whose local resources and volunteers were overwhelmed by the tremendous needs of these new arrivals.  The Memphis groups were organized by Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) and consisted of CCWTN staff members, volunteers from various parishes and rising seniors from four Memphis-area Catholic high schools - Christian Brothers High School, St. Agnes Academy, St. Benedict at Auburndale High School, and our own IC parishioner and Immaculate Conception Cathedral School senior Olivia Stonecipher.  To follow their activities as the week progresses, please visit the CCWTN website - www.ccwtn.org - and watch for updates.  Please keep Olivia and her colleagues in your prayers as the week progresses.

The photo shows volunteers from the Diocese of Memphis gathered for prayer with family members and friends at Memphis International Airport prior to boarding their flight for the Texas-Mexico border.
