Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein, OSB, 79, monk and priest of Saint Meinrad Archabbey and archbishop emeritus of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, died at 12:20 a.m. on January 25, 2018, in the monastery infirmary. Archbishop Buechlein served as chief shepherd of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis for 19 years, from 1992 until his retirement in 2011.
